Portrait of a young gay drug addict living in Rome.

Vincent Dieutre was born in 1960. He majored in Art History after graduating from IDHEC (French Film School) and winning a Villa Medici Fellowship, he lived in Rome then New York before working in film. After writing his thesis on "Aesthetics of Confusion" he began teaching at Paris VIII University Film Department and took part in activities by the collective PointLignePlan. As a filmmaker, he has explored the "limits between documentary and self-fiction", beginning with LETTERS FROM BERLIN (1988) and in his first two feature films DESOLATE ROME (1996) and TENEBRAE LESSONS (2000) - Jury prize in Marseille 2000 - and MY WINTER TRAVER (2003). He also directed for Arte, GOOD NEWS (2001) an "urban mediation about his own neighbourhood in the Paris Grands Boulevards District" (Video Jury Prize Locarno 2001). Commissioned by France Culture, Vincent Dieutre shot BOLOGNA CENTRALE (2004) which was also became an installation work as well as a mid-length feature film that was released in 2004.
